This was one of my first posts, and I thought it was worthy of having a few more readers. It’s a little Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve tried a variety of “toy patrol” tactics, but none seem to be very effective without my telling them what to pick up and where to put it involvement. The best time to clean-up is right before supper - when I can’t really be involved (unless we want to eat burned Tuna Helper)
This last week, I decided to tap into Read the rest of this entry »

And now I’ve tackled the space underneath my desk taking it from this disorganized mess . . .

The heat pump is in and cooling nicely, and I’m really enjoying the being cool part since I haven’t received their bill yet. I didn’t even bother to check the mail on Friday or Saturday, just so I could enjoy the rest of my weekend :smile:Â Â Â .
The guys at Jackson Air were SO professional; I wish the plumbers, cable company, and critter gitters were on the ball like Jackson Air was last Saturday. I’m ready for all the Read the rest of this entry »

I recently listened to a podcast by Motherhood Uncensored on BlogTalk Radio about mommy guilt. As I listened, I found myself wondering if I had anything that I felt guilty about as a mom. During the podcast, there was a lot of talk about feeling guilty about not breastfeeding. Well, I couldn’t really relate there (although I agree there is a lot of pressure to breastfeed), because all 4 of mine latched on just fine and nursed for at least 6 months (baby #4 has the record at 12 months).
After listening to the podcast, I figured that I must do pretty well since I’m not really finding myself feeling guilty about anything. But over the next several days, I found myself Read the rest of this entry »
When I take my kids to the library, we max out our library cards. After all, it’s a good card to max out (unlike those credit cards in my wallet
).
Each child is allowed up to 10 books on their library cards, so we currently have over 30 library books in our house. Even though we only have 3 children with library cards, we have more than 30 books because I love to check out books for kids too!
I prefer the short stories (due to my ADD and all), especially if Read the rest of this entry »
As I was reading through some of the Tackle It Tuesday posts earlier today, I found so many of you working on the same thing - LAUNDRY!
Sherry is doing her laundry like this:
“First load will be kids’ clothes - darks
Second load will be kids’ clothes - lights
Third load will be dh’s clothes - darks
Fourth load will be assorted clothes - brights”
Rachel is processing hers like this: Read the rest of this entry »
Do your ears ever hurt? Do you think your brain is going to swirl right out of your head if you can’t just HAVE.A.SECOND.TO THINK.ABOUT.SOMETHING??? I swear I am in so much trouble when my one-year-old starts making sense out of her little language and I have FOUR talkers! She ALREADY jabbers enough to keep up with her blabber-mouth 3-year-old sister, but nonsense words are easier to tune out

We are growing:

You’ve probably been wondering all week whether I was going to clean out my desk drawer or the space under my desk. Goodness knows, they both REALLY needed it!
Between Lara’s sweet vote and my husband’s constantly asking me for something in that drawer this week, I decided to let the drawer win out! (For the rest of you - where is your sense of adventure? excitement? suspense? oh, your heat pump was out too, so you were too busy getting that taken care of? I understand
).
I honestly didn’t realize how bad it had gotten (except that it seemed my answer to any question Read the rest of this entry »
If you’re like most moms, you’re probably always trying to figure out how to cram more fruits and veggies into your kids, especially if they are picky eaters! I know I always try to have some kind of fruit with most meals (especially breakfast and lunch) and extra veggies to choose from.
For breakfast, we always have a wide assortment of fruit to choose from? You ask, “Who has time to cut up fruit in the midst of the morning rush?” Well, the secret is Read the rest of this entry »
