Allowance is Such a Chore!

Let me begin by telling you I submitted a post to the Carnival of Family Life, hosted this week by My Two Boys. It’s a great read, and you’ll find lots of entertaining stories by other parents!

Speaking of entertaining . . . there are some great entertaining stories over at Chilihead’s place. She’s also got an interesting carnival going about Read the rest of this entry »

WFMW - Storytime is Sick

I’ve had laryngitis at least 3 or 4 times since last summer, and I’m struggling with a bout of it again. What are you supposed to do when you’re a mom and you’re sick? You can’t write down your requests to your children because only one of them reads and he ignores my verbal requests already (why add insult to injury). You can’t use sign language (aside from the fact that you don’t know sign language, they wouldn’t understand it and probably wouldn’t “listen” anyway).

One trick I found that actually has worked best this time is Read the rest of this entry »

A Very Buggy Birthday Tackle

Sorry to disappoint, but there are no before pictures this week. I’m tackling my 5-year-olds’ birthday party that’s scheduled for Sunday afternoon (y’all send me your good vibes to help me survive an outdoor party with a bunch of rowdy 5-year-old boys  ).

He really wanted a super hero theme, but Read the rest of this entry »

Tiny Talk About Food

My husband cooks breakfast during the week. I handle lunches and suppers (except when I convince him that we should go out - not a difficult task if I suggest one of his favorite restaurants). So, we are both always on the lookout for new and delicious recipes to try.

My 5-year-old, the picky-eater in the family, had lots to say about food this week:

He called the deviled eggs Read the rest of this entry »

Wipe It Off, Wipe It Up, Wipe It Down

I love baby wipes! I have a box of wipes in each bathroom, another box at the changing table (of course  ), another box by my desk, and even a box in the car! I don’t go anywhere without my wipes! Why not, you ask? Read the rest of this entry »

Menu Plan Monday With Lots Leftover!

This last week had us scrambling to eat enough of our leftovers before they had a chance to start growing things in the fridge. Everything was so good, so I’m glad to share what we ate last week with you (except we’ve eaten most of the leftovers already).

I’ll just share the plan with you

BTW-I’m going to start something different with desserts next week, so I’m leaving them off this week (if you’ve been following, you see we rotate through some of the same items that I keep “stocked”).

It’s High Enough For Me

Are gas prices high enough for you? They are for me! But I see LOTS of people around town that apparently feel they don’t pay enough at the pumps! They LEAVE.THEIR.SUV.OR.MINIVAN.RUNNING Read the rest of this entry »

Little Ballerinas, Big Ballerinas

Were you ever a ballerina when you were little? If you didn’t take lessons, I bet you at least dressed up in a tutu at some time in your childhood.

When I was little I loved to dance, and I continued dancing classes well into my teens. At one time, I seriously considered going professional - I remember watching Fame, wishing I could go to a school of the arts. And I can’t tell you how many times I watched “White Nights” with Mikhail Baryshnikov!

Perhaps that is why Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve Come Almost Full Circle

I started a few weeks ago with the task of de-cluttering my work zone. I’ve taken care of the shelves, the junk drawer, and the space underneath. I’d decided I was done (except for cleaning out the computer), until Marcia threw down the gauntlet with her Tidy Desk Competition.

I can offer some of the great excuses that Marcia mentions (except I would include that my children interrupt me which leads to the disarray on my desk). Ultimately she’s right - Read the rest of this entry »
