Two Tips for the Price of One!

During our monthly Mom’s Nite Out, a friend was talking about her slow-cooker recipe that her family would be forced to eat on for the next week (that’s what happens when you use a 4 lb. rack of meat for a family of three  ).

I suggested that she Read the rest of this entry »

Heads Or Tails - MARKed Down!

The theme for Heads or Tails this week is Mark. I’m new to this, but I thought I’d play along. I’m relying on all you “regulars” to tell me if I’m doing this right . . . (tactfully, so as not to hurt my feelings, mind you  ).

I saw a K-mart associate loading two carts with Crayola Sidewalk Chalk and Paint products, so I meandered over to her to appease my curiosity. Sometimes curiosity kills the cat, Read the rest of this entry »

No Turkey Leftovers Here

Maybe leftover pot roast and slow cooker pork chops, but none of that leftover Thanksgiving turkey! Well, maybe just a little lunch leftover from school last week  .

Since I’m being so nice not to fill you with turkey leftovers, I hope you’ll return the favor by heading over to Top Momma and voting for my picture (the one with me and my 5-year-old sticking our tongues out). Love and kisses for that! Read the rest of this entry »

Pumpkins - Not Just for Halloween!

Apparently, carving 3 pumpkins back in October wasn’t enough to satisfy my children. I, however, was more than satisfied  . I purchased a couple of pumpkins at the farmer’s market, and we went to work on our Thanksgiving and Christmas pumpkins. What? You don’t have Thanksgiving and Christmas pumpkins at your house? Traffic and Turkeys

Many of you may be planning to travel for the holidays - good luck with the traffic. I’m only headed east for about 3 hours and then back home again to my humble abode to try to get something done with four children underfoot out of school.

Before you hit the road, please help send me a little traffic. Stop by TopMomma.com and click on the picture of me sticking my tongue out behind my 5-year-old. You can also click on the link in my side bar. It’s a cute picture, but I wish you could see better that I’m bouncing an infant on my lap on her belly while working at my computer. Oh well . . . sometimes a picture isn’t quite worth 1000 words  .

While we’re talking about turkey (weren’t we?), I thought I’d share this funny with you at this special holiday time. I warn you, however. Go pee before you watch it  .

Living On Leftovers

It’s been a crazy week with my husband working all hours to get everyone’s carpet cleaned before Thanksgiving. Since I’ve been a single parent most nights this week, I’m glad to have had lots of leftovers from last week to help me make it through!

Here’s what we had: Read the rest of this entry »

Just In Time

A dear friend of mine e-mailed this to me several days ago. I’m so glad to learn how to properly weigh myself BEFORE Thanksgiving! I won’t worry nearly as much while I make a pig of myself!

I’m Just A MiniVan Girl At Heart

It all started when the zipper on the back seat of my Honda Odyssey broke and exposed the seat “innards.” Now, anyone with curious young boys knows that something like seat “innards” are just a disaster waiting to happen.

Honda ordered the part, called when it arrived, and I made an appointment to have the cover replaced - all covered by warranty, thank goodness (too bad having change removed from the CD player isn’t  ).

I dropped the van off at 8:20 am on Wednesday, making sure they understood I had to have it back by 11 am to pick up kids from preschool. At 10:30, I get this call saying Read the rest of this entry »

Menu Plan Monday Already

Can’t believe another week has gone by! It’s scary to think that by NEXT Monday’s menu plan, we’ll be talking about Thanksgiving!!! The days just seem to go by faster and faster - does anyone know how to slow this train down?

Oh well . . . here’s my plan from last week: Read the rest of this entry »

Storytime Saturday

It’s hard to be a mother of a young child. It’s harder to be a mother of young children. It’s even harder to be a mother of ACTIVE young children!

Laura Numeroff nails a few hours day in the life of a mother with all the books in her series “If You Give . . . A Mouse A Cookie, A Pig A Pancake, A Moose A Muffin” and many more!

After I hit the ground running this morning, I don’t remember Read the rest of this entry »
