Ten On Tuesday again wanting to know 10 things to do instead of watching T.V. Since this is a family site, I thought I’d make a list of 10 things you and your kids can do instead of watching T.V. (or playing video games)
1. Ride their bikes. If that sounds boring, go outside with them and set up an obstacle course in the driveway to make it more interesting - make them go around the trashcan, follow a jump rope laid out in a curvy line, go around a car, have them toss a rock in a bucket when they ride by - the possibilities are endless!
2. Sidewalk chalk and sidewalk paint. See how big they can draw a flower/tree/cloud; who can make the most unusual looking bug; play tic-tac-toe; practice this week’s spelling words from school. Read the rest of this entry »

The
LAST thing I have my 3 1/2-year-old do before getting in bed for her mid-day nap is to fetch a diaper. Now, she’s very fond of her new princess and Elmo panties, so she’s a bit reluctant to remove them (interpretation: this issue can lead to a major meltdown).
So, after she’s gone potty, here’s what I do: slide her underwear down, put on the diaper while she stands up, then slide the underwear and pants back up. Super-easy and she’s very pleased to get to sleep in her underwear (and I’m very pleased I won’t have to change the sheets after her nap
).

January is gone
ALREADY. I’m no where near where I wanted to be in terms of my “To Do” list. Only eleven more months to get on the ball.
Eleven.
Well, at least I have my menus to keep me on track

Do you have a hard time getting your kids to sit at the table for more than two minutes? Up down, run this way, and that way - drives me nuts! If my kids are really hungry AND they like what we’re having, their table manners are great. Otherwise, you can forget it!
