A Very Buggy Birthday Tackle

Sorry to disappoint, but there are no before pictures this week. I’m tackling my 5-year-olds’ birthday party that’s scheduled for Sunday afternoon (y’all send me your good vibes to help me survive an outdoor party with a bunch of rowdy 5-year-old boys  ).

He really wanted a super hero theme, but Read the rest of this entry »

Invisible Tackles

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
For quite some time, I’ve known my computer was running slow. I’ve known that I needed to do something about it. My husband’s hard drive is recently departed, so I’ve been reminded about WHAT CAN HAPPEN if you aren’t prepared (of course, he was  ).So, this week I’ve been working on de-cluttering the inside of my computer. The dust bunnies are still roaming around because, quite frankly, I just haven’t felt like taking the machine apart. Okay, to be honest, Read the rest of this entry »

One Good Tackle Deserves Another

I’ve spent a lot of time around my desk lately, tackling one project after another. First the shelves . . .

Then the junk drawer . . .

And now I’ve tackled the space underneath my desk taking it from this disorganized mess . . .

And the Winner Is …

You’ve probably been wondering all week whether I was goingp8140005.JPG to clean out my desk drawer or the space under my desk. Goodness knows, they both REALLY needed it!

Between Lara’s sweet vote and my husband’s constantly asking me for something in that drawer this week, I decided to let the drawer win out! (For the rest of you - where is your sense of adventure? p8140004.JPGexcitement? suspense? oh, your heat pump was out too, so you were too busy getting that taken care of? I understand  ).

I honestly didn’t realize how bad it had gotten (except that it seemed my answer to any question Read the rest of this entry »

Calling Little Cats A,B,C,D…

You’ve probably had a hard time this weekp7110003.JPG just knowing I was tackling my work space shelves, wondering how the project was going to look after completion. Do you remember how cluttered it all looked?

In all honesty, the shelves had become a parking lot of stuff I Read the rest of this entry »

Continually Tackling…

We were out of town last week, spending our vacation in Sandestin, Florida. Even though I really missed blogging (S-L-O-W internet in the room  ), I enjoyed having a Tuesday not tackling something. Although, vacation to me is never really as relaxing as I wish it were (or as I remember it being before children). So I guess I feel like I tackled a trip all last week - perhaps I was with you all in spirit!

This week, I’m just trying to catch up on everything. Our fish tank is still in flux and we’ve lost two fish in the last week, with another one looking pretty “green around the gills”. So, we’re still doing frequent water changes and lots of testing!

I’ve managed to get everything unpacked and all the mail sorted through, but I’m trying to get Read the rest of this entry »

All Froze Up!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
I know you’ve been sitting on pins and needles this week just WAITING to find out what the mystery odor was in our side-by-side refrigerator. In the freezer, we found this Read the rest of this entry »

Mystery Odors

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
My mama always taught me to keep a box of baking soda in the fridge and freezer to help absorb odors. I’ve followed her advice as a dutiful daughter. Of course, I recently read that this is just a ploy by the baking soda people to sell more product  . My boxes are still in their rightful places, just the same.

Friday, 11:00 a.m. I caught just a whiff upon opening the refrigerator to make lunch. I figured someone had spilled a little milk on a shelf and I’d hunt down the source later.

2:30 p.m. I got distracted (because of my ADD) and didn’t think about it again until Read the rest of this entry »

Tackle It Again, and Again, and Again

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

As I’m preparing any meal these days, my almost 1-year-old adds to the challenge by providing me with an obstacle course to work through across the kitchen floor. She works her way from one cabinet to another, removing all the goodies she cares to explore - of course, she doesn’t put them back  .Usually I glide gracefully from refrigerator to stove to sink and back without my rear end hitting the floor. But often times I step on or kick objects and send them sailing into imaginary goalposts, or sometimes they hit the unsuspecting child passing through the playing field. Tackle It Tuesday - Spicin’ It Up!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

As I stumbled into the kitchen this morning, I found my two boys playing computer games in the adjoining office. My oldest daughter was putting together puzzles nearby (a new skill she has recently developed). My 11-month old was sitting on the kitchen floor, playing amongst the goodies she had recently removed from neighboring cabinets. My husband was cooking breakfast (aren’t you jealous that he does this every week day  ), so I began helping put some things on the table.A few minutes into the mundane task, I noticed my youngest picking up these black things off the floor and starting to put them in her mouth.
